ROSTER FREEZE
Week 23 is the final week to add players who will be eligible for the Post-Season.
The PostSeason Roster Freeze goes into effect on August 31 - or with your Week 24 lineup. Any Free Agent added to your roster during the final 4 weeks of the season will be ineligible for the LCS and World Series, and they will be deleted from all PostSeason rosters. These players will, however, remain as part of your roster prior to the 2027 Roster Reduction.
ABANDONED TEAMS
As we come down to the finish line, several races are still up for grabs. Several of these lots are presently held by an "abandoned team."
As always, "abandoned teams" are ineligible for the post-season. But this season, we have had to deal with an inorodinate number of them.
Beginning with the results of Week 24, these teams have been removed from each league's Path to the Pennant. This should clear the way for other teams to be more easily identified as contenders.
TRADES
With the uncertainty over negotiations for the next Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the scheduled start of the 2027 season, trading will be prohibited until Full Slate posts a resumption. (Previously, trading could resume on the Monday following the results of the League Championship Series.)
Hopefully we will all know of the status of those negotiations and the expected lock-out by mid-December. And hopefully, the owners and players can agree on a contract that will ensure the prosperity of our national pastime.
REALIGNMENT
This off-season, we will be conducting the realignment of each league.
Realignment will be based on the records from each of the last 3 seasons. Each season will be "weighted" with the records from 2024 counting a 20%, then records from 2025 counting as 30% and the records from 2026 counting as 50%.
We hope to have the realignment completed by the end of 2026.
