2023 BIG BOARD
It's time for a final look at the leader board, and all teams with a 500+ record.
The "Joe Haren Show" took center stage early in the season, and never let up. Since Week 12, three of his teams took and held the top 3 slots. At each posting there was a shuffle, and in the end Joe's THE DUDE and BROADWAY JOE ended in a virtual tie at the top. Using our "power poll" tiebreaker (games ahead) THE DUDE comes away as the Big Board Champion. Joe's JOE MILLIONAIRE finished #3 just 1 game back.
Eddie Brill's COCKYBASTIDS tried to crack the Top 3, but in the end, remained at #4 (-2); Joe's KING OF THE ROAD held on to #5 (-4); Sly Asselin's MTL ROYAUX continued their ascent up the ladder and finished at #6 (-10); Ben Torres' NOSE DIVE ended up at #6 (-11).
Rounding out the Top Ten are two of Eddie's teams: THE JOEYS #8 (-16) and XTC #9 (-19) and cracking the Top Ten in final weeks was the Commish's LONE GUNMEN at #10 (-23). A special note to Chad Morken's LEAF VILLAGE and Joe's BIG DADDY... both also finished in a dead heat with LONE GUNMEN but were separated by the tiebreaker.
The hottest team over the past 3 weeks was Mel Nehrkorn's TAKE NO PRISONER which won 18 of their 21 games. That streak also served to propel Mel's team to the biggest jump on the Board - up 22 slots, from 52nd all the way to #30.
Just four teams cracked the Board in the end led by Max Martin's THE MICKS which finished at #43.
As a game of statistics, here are some numbers to crunch...
55 teams finished over .500 ... 57 teams finished under .500.
29 teams had 100+ wins ... 39 teams had 100+ losses.
