CHANGE TO CBD...

"I was reading about how some are angry about how the draft is going to be a repeat of last season and I was one of those who wanted it the way it was. I then thought rationally about it and realized the only way to win is really to stockpile talent.

I figure if you have a good team its a star at every position (9) including a DH, 3 SP which should fuel your super team through the playoffs and 1/2 RP tops so thats a total of 14 players.

This number is really low and honestly I've not ever seen a protected list lower than this ever and I've been playing for a real long time.

Frankly, it's poor trades and management from some that basically build these super teams, this is supposed to be fun but I can see how people can look at a few select trades and just wonder who was drinking what exactly.

My reasoning to the new way we did it was simple, if i have to compete and hit on picks and drafts and rookies then I want to protect as many players as I can; I want to be able to take a flier on guys a few years back like Giolito, Urias and the Rodons of the world. When I had to protect my team these guys were just maybes and I couldn't protect them; now I can stack my roster with Nate Pearson and Shane McClanahan, trade my stud for guys like Adley or a Robert or a Witt; guys I want to grow with and this system makes that possible.

I can keep everyone so I can take great setup guys who might take over at RP and borderline rookies with nothing but potential, this is why I chose this and I went from being a really good owner to just unable to win with a team but the star players don't leave the good teams this is what makes them good.

I think those that aren't happy... if you think of it this way it will make so much sense, gather talent and guys who are a year away or had an injury and build that team its why I voted how I did.

I will say that the only thing I think is totally unfair is the randomness of the rookie draft, it is simply the only issue I have. Worst team should have first choice period and down the line; this gives everyone a fair chance, no reason for the guy with Tatis and Baez to end up getting the first pick and grabbing Marcello Mayer at the top as an example. This I think needs to be looked at then the system in and of itself is really a solid one.

The great teams are losing great players... end of story and the only way to challenge is to have your own core with your own plan."
